Bassoon Rental?
I am thinking of renting a bassoon. I'm adult learner with no musical experience - other than studying oboe for about 6-8 months 10 years ago and really enjoying that (but having to give it up for family reasons). When I was studying the oboe a decade ago, I always really thought that I might prefer the bassoon, but no local shop would rent me a bassoon.
I have more time these days (an empty nester!), and I'd like to study the bassoon.
I have been searching on the web, and I have found that Forrest's (sometimes) rents bassoons, MMI rents bassoons , and IQ Instrument Rental rents bassoons.
I'd probably go with Forrest's if they have any for rent because they are a double reed shop. The MMI, because they have a good reputation.
Any other suggestions? Any experience with any of these?
